Fifth Annual Service Dog Seminar:

This annual event is celebrating its fifth year this year. As always, we will be having our core events- Taking Families into Account Different Needs, Different Breed Police Officer Access Issues, The Training Game…For People, Advanced Troubleshooting, Overcoming Fears and Phobias Lab, So you are about to get a service dog, and much, much more. 24 classes to choose from in three days, in a supportive service dog friendly environment.

DOES YOUR DOG THINK THAT “COME” MEANS RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN…..AWAY FROM YOU?
Join us for a full day of fun while you and your dog work on coming when called and lying down when told. Jam packed with exercises and activities, you and your dog will learn all about the fun of
Each participant will get a clicker, a whistle, a toy, a bell and treats to help along the way during the workshop. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited to 8 dogs!

LOOSE LEASHES!

The single most frustrating experience related to owning a dog is being pulled through the park! Join us for a full day of leash walking exercises, theory and practice, and master the art of loose leash walking with your dog!

DANCE WITH YOUR DOG!
February 11, 2012
Join us for a day of fun tricks and musical fun with your dog. We will show you how to improve your relationship with your dog through dance, movement and training.

DOG FEST
August 19 and 20.

Dogs in the Park’s annual reunion returns for its SECOND year! We will have dog walks, campfire, extreme ironing and camping for you, your family and your dog. We run from Friday at 6pm until mid afternoon on Saturday after our potluck lunch and corn roast.

If you have been a student in the past year, join in the fun. Don’t forget to bring something cool for the potluck!

Cost: $45/person; dogs get in free! (This event is open only to students who have been enrolled in classes in the past year)

 

 

WORKING IN DRIVE
March 3

Do you live with a high drive dog? Learn to channel that drive into work in this full day workshop. We will look at how to handle the dog who is over the top excited about anything and who would benefit from being able to channel that energy into productive activity. This workshop is not suited to dogs with reactivity issues.

THE NOSE KNOWS!
May 11 and 12

Every dog comes with a nose, and we have been using their superior scenting abilities for hundreds of years. Learn how to work with your dog to solve scent problems such as finding your car keys, following a trail or recreational Search And Rescue.

TRY TREIBALL!
June 23, 2012

Triebball is the hot new sport for dogs that you can play almost anywhere and anytime. Participants will learn the three basic skills in the sport, some cool games, and go home with a treibball of their own to practice with.
