“I have recently been taking a virtual puppy class at Dogs in the Park with my Clumber spaniel puppy, Marcus.  I am an experienced trainer, having made my living training dogs for 20 years, and decided with this special dog I want to develop my skills at using positive reinforcement.  I could not have picked better trainers to work with!  Every activity and training sequence is sound and insightful, and I am thrilled with how fast Marcus is learning and how eager he is to show how well he can do all of the activities.

Early in the class I printed out a matrix of skills, thinking to myself, “I wonder how many months it will take to get to the Gold and Platinum exercises?”  Not months.  A few weeks, five or six, I think.   As a dog trainer myself, I am a tough critic.  These trainers are the real deal.  They understand dogs, and I believe the best of the protocols we are learning were developed by them.  I am having a blast, because my puppy loves it, because he is progressing fast and has a great attitude, because his training carries over into general cooperation, and because I am growing as a trainer.

I am so glad Dogs in the Park has virtual classes, so I can learn from them even though I am around 1000 miles away!”

“We started fully online in May 2020 with our eight-week-old puppy, Pippin. Was it how I thought our training experience would begin? No. Was it worth every minute? YES. Working with Pippin at home engaged his growing and active mind, enabled him to pick up new skills quickly, and helped us establish a baseline we could lean on in the real, outside world. And—bonus—the online classes were wonderfully convenient for us.

I count myself incredibly lucky to be a part of the Dogs in the Park community. The trainers are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and everyone—staff and students—has been so positive and supportive. There are still a lot of things we want to learn and accomplish, but, even in the midst of a pandemic, we’ve been able to give Pippin a wonderful start and a solid foundation that will benefit him (and us) for the rest of his life.”

“I can’t say enough good things about the online classes at Dogs in the Park. I started with the free level 1 class and was quickly hooked. Both my dog and I have learned so much in just a few months. The online format allows me to see and hear other participants at all levels and to learn from watching them with the instructors. I also get excellent individual feedback and ideas from the instructors. Try it - you won’t be disappointed!”

“Dogs In The Park online training courses are the absolute best. I live in Iowa, USA, so online training courses were the only option. I'm so grateful to DITP for teaching me how to train my puppy!

I have never had a puppy learn things so quickly. The webinars are so easy to follow and provide a lot of information. The zoom meeting part of the courses is excellent for having real time instruction and the ability to get things clarified. We started with the puppy classes offered and we are now in levels online since my boy, Arlis, is almost 7 months.

I would highly recommend DITP online courses to anyone seeking first class dog training for their dogs!”

“Like so many businesses this past year Dogs in The Park had to get creative to continue to offer their services. I honestly think they have found some new methods that will stick around long after COVID. We adopted a young boxer x mastiff in the middle of the pandemic and immediately identified some reactivity issues that we needed help with.

From the first virtual session to virtual and outdoor classes, we have been so impressed with the DITP team. The opportunity to work on some key skills and behaviours in the safety and comfort of our home has actually been an ideal formula for our dog. He can learn in his own environment, long before we challenge him in the real world. The whole team has been so excellent at noticing and interpreting dog behaviour through a zoom call that this actually seems to give them a more up-close view of our dog than they could comfortably get in face to face interactions. We are looking forward to continuing to work with this great team!”

“After being an in-person client at Dogs in the Park, we are so thankful for the opportunity to continue our learning online during pandemic restrictions. With our anxious dog in the Good Dog program, we were able to work with the fabulous DITP trainers from the comfort and quiet of our home, to build so many skills that we have been able to use "out in the real world". Our family was honestly surprised at how effective online dog training has been! We were able to learn and build skills, but also better understand how to communicate with our dog, and listen to their needs, creating an amazing bond. Thanks to the knowledge, support, and consistency provided by the DITP team in online classes our girl is learning and thriving.”

“In March our 1 year old lab lost his 15 year old brother. He immediately lost all confidence and became scared of absolutely everything- people he knew, men in general, sounds he was familiar with, everything.

We enrolled Cypress in the Good Dog program with Sue. It was all online due to lockdown. The tools Sue gave us after our first online session made a huge difference in Cypress. As we continued on with the online classes he went from being afraid to leave the yard to getting his leash for us when we told him we were going for a walk. He went from being so reactive when we took him away from home to an amazing, well adjusted dog. We didn’t have a single in person class, everything was all online. In September he had major surgery and needed to be hospitalized for 2 days, plus 5 post-op appointments we couldn’t attend with him, and his surgeon was male. Before his classes this would have been impossible but with the training and guidance from Sue he confidently went into the hospital with the “strangers” and was a star patient.”

“2 years ago I adopted my 6 month old dog from the Humane Society. It quickly became clear that she had had few expectations imposed on her in her formative puppy months. Dogs in the Park levels program helped me to develop the problem-solving and communication skills to effectively work with her as an individual. I also learned to see the training process as a partnership between myself and my dog. Although far from perfect, I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome as I am doing more with my dog than I ever thought possible. Training has become a way of life and is something we both look forward to every day so we are happy to continue our training online and have found that it works very well. It has encouraged me to be very creative with my limited space and diy equipment. The flexibility and convenience work really well for us.”
