2024 Intensive Calendar
Please see below for the intensives we are going to be offering in 2024. To pre-register for an intensive and hold your spot, click on the intensive you’re interested in and follow the steps to check out. The pre-registration fee is a $20 deposit, and is non-refundable. This will be deducted from the cost of the intensive when you fully register; intensives cost $199.99.
Three weeks before the start of each course you are pre-registered for, you will receive an email with instructions on completing registration for the full course. In the event that you are pre-registered for a workshop and choose not to participate in the workshop, the pre-registration fee will not be refunded. If there are no spots available for a course, you can email admin@dogsinthepark.ca to join the waitlist for that course, at no cost.
Please note that you must meet the prerequisites for the courses you’d like to register for, including having been enrolled in classes at Dogs in the Park within six months of the intensive start date. If there is not enough interest in a particular workshop, we may not be able to run that class. In that case, deposits will be refunded or applied to another intensive. If you are a six-month student, please contact admin@dogsinthepark.ca for your code to pre-register. Course start dates and times are subject to change.
Join Laura for eight weeks of working with your dog to make handling and procedures like nail trims, ear cleaning, eye drops and brushing more enjoyable for everyone. This class is suitable for dogs of all ages, and we will be working on building the principles of cooperative care, as maintaining fluency requires lifelong practice.
Start Date: May 1st, 2024, Wednesdays, 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Pre-requisites: Enrolled as a student at Dogs in the Park within six months of start date

Join Laura for this brand new, fun-filled class! Teach your dog the skills needed to take stunning photographs, including stays on objects, hold an object, wearing costumes, and look at a target. We will also touch on the basics of photography, such as lighting, angles, and editing. The class will culminate in a photoshoot that will be the basis of our 2025 DITP calendar!
Start Date: August 14th, 2024, Wednesdays, 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Pre-requisites: Enrolled as a student within six months of start date

Does your dog like to learn tricks? Join Laura, Gabbie and Zero for eight one-hour sessions that will teach you and your dog different methods of learning tricks, as well as generating some new ideas for fun tricks.
Start Date: October 2nd, 2024, Wednesdays, 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Pre-requisites: Levels Student within six months of class start date
Cost: $199.99 or 1 extra
In this outdoor class, we will be practising our leash skills in the presence of other dogs, people and real life distractions. This 6 week class will be on-leash and will meet in a local park. You will learn how to walk past other dogs and people, how to walk politely with other dogs, and how to stay engaged with your dog in a different environment.
All dogs in this class must have attended the Loose Leash intensive (or with specific permission from the instructor) and be socially appropriate for this level of challenge.
Start Date: May 26th, 2024, Sundays, 5:00pm to 6:15pm
Pre-requisites: Levels Student within six months of class start date AND have taken Loose Leash Walking
Cost: $199.99 or 1 extra
Join us for 4 two hour classes devoted to helping you to teach your dog to come when called, instantly and enthusiastically! In dog training, coming when called is referred to as a recall. Your success will depend on practicing what you learn in the classroom in a variety of places such as parks, on the trail or at home. The exercises you learn are fun, practical and address a variety of different tactics for teaching your dog to come when called!
Start Date: September 15th, 2024, Sundays, 9:00am to 11:00am
Pre-requisites: Enrolled as a Levels student within six months of class start date

Walking with your dog should not be an exercise in frustration! Join us for 4 two hour classes where you and your dog will begin to work together to walk on leash. Leash walking skills are essential for getting to the car from the house, to the vet clinic and into the classroom and reflect the true connection that a dog and handler have with one another.
Start Date: November 3rd, 2023, Sundays, 9:00am to 11:0am
Pre-requisites: Levels Student within six months of class start date
Cost: $199.99 or 1 extra
Join John and Laura for 8 weeks of agility fun! This course focuses on teaching your dog how to safely navigate agility equipment, including tunnels, dog walk, teeter, and more!
Start Date: June 16th, 2024, Sundays, 11am to 12pm
Pre-requisites: Levels Student within six months of class start date AND have passed Level One
Cost: $199.99 or 1 extra
Join John for eight weeks of tunnels and jumps fun! Though tunnels and jumps uses some of the equipment found in agility, this sport focuses on control, relationship between the dog and handler, and working at a distance.
Start Date: September 17th, 2024, Tuesdays, 8:00pm to 9:00pm
Pre-requisites: Enrolled as a student within six months of start date, AND have passed Level Two
Cost: $199.99 or 1 extra
This course is the next step up from Rally Advanced. Students will learn the Rally Excellent signs, as well as working their dogs off leash through the courses. Join John and Goose for 8 weeks of Rally Excellent fun!
Start Date: November 19th, 2024, Tuesdays, 8pm to 9pm
Pre-requisites: Levels Student within six months of class start date AND taken Rally Advanced OR have titled current dog in Rally Advanced
